Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District is excited to announce our intention to apply for the Arizona’s 21st CCLC after School Programs Grant. In partnership with the City of Cottonwood, Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District has entered the planning stag es of providing another quality after-school program for our local families and students. The after-school program will serve community children at Cottonwood Elementary Scho ol. We will be offering after-school programs as well as specialized programs in the summer and during breaks. We will be sending a survey home and on-line for families to provide information on their needs for quality after-school care that we may use in designing programing to meet the needs of our community.
This partnership aligns with COCSD’s Mission: Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District is a K-8 public school district that is focused on preparing students for the21st century through tradition, experience and opportunities. Students will be provided the tools necessary to develop the highest possible level of achievement and encouraged to be lifelong learners
COCSD highlighted in the BUS 52 Project
What is Bus 52? Bus 52 is a year-long journey across the United States that will see four young people travel to all 48 continental states in a converted school bus. We will be looking for people who are approaching community challenges in innovative ways and will tell their story through video interviews, articles, and photo albums.
The Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District offers free developmental screenings for preschool children between the ages of 3 to 5 years who live in the school district and are not already receiving special education services or enrolled in Kindergarten. The screenings are typically held on a monthly basis. The screenings will check a child's speech, motor, cognitive, adaptive, and social development. For an appointment call 634-2288 ext 129 or 124. Arizona Early Intervention program also offers developmental screenings for children age birth to three years.
DDB, CES, CMS, and OC are all AdvanceEd Accredited. Accreditation is a voluntary method of quality assurance developed more than 100 years ago by American universities and secondary schools. Accreditation examines the whole institution—the programs, the cultural context, the community of stakeholders— to determine how well the parts work together to meet the needs of students.
AdvancEd plans provide the structure to help assure that the disruption of changes are implemented in a systematic and controlled manner and aligned to the district’s and schools’ visions of preparing students for the 21st century. We are ready!
Arizona iZone Institute Online School is now accepting enrollment for grades K-12. You can learn about our program and enroll on our website online-program.cocsd.schoolfusion.us For more information, please call 928-634-2288.
